Captain of “Tampa” Steven Stamkos noted the performance of Russian goalkeeper Andrey Vasilevsky in the NHL regular season game against “Colorado” (4:3 B).
Due to Russia, 43 shots reflected and won three duels in the postgame shootout.
– He (Vasilevsky) gives us a chance to win every game. The opponent played better than us in the first two periods, but Vasilevsky gave us a chance to win. In the third period we played better and overtime is a lottery,” the league press service quoted Stamkos as saying.
Stamkos scored the winning free throw in that game. Additionally, Russians Nikita Kucherov and Vladislav Namestnikov scored once for Tampa in regulation time.
Tampa is fourth in the NHL Eastern Conference standings with 72 points.
