FAN ID law enters into force in Russia

The law on the introduction of a fan ID (FAN ID) for access to sports competitions entered into force in Russia on June 1, 2022.

President of Russia Vladimir Poutine On December 30, 2021, he signed a law on the introduction of a fan ID from June 1. The document introduces the concept of a “personalized card to attend a sporting event”.

Tickets for sporting events will be sold with a FAN ID. The list of these events is drawn up by the government.

A citizen will be able to submit a FAN ID application through the State Services Portal. They can refuse to extradite him, for example, if the fan has violated public order at sporting events. The decision of refusal may be appealed to the court.

Previously, supporters of some Tinkoff RPL clubs had announced a boycott of matches where an electronic spectator identification system would be used.
