Defender “Admiral” colby williams shared his expectations of the Fonbet KHL Championship playoffs and said it would not be easy for his team to beat any opponent.
The Vladivostok club is 7th in the Eastern Conference table with 73 points in 66 games.
– “Admiral” secured a place in the playoffs. Will it be very difficult to play against your team there?
— The playoffs are a big event for the club, the city and the fans. And for me personally, because in my first year in the league, I will play relegations. I don’t know how far we can go in the playoffs, but the matches in Vladivostok will be our advantage. The opponent is not used to changing time zones, which will affect his physical and psychological state. And our fans will be very supportive of Admiral. I think our team won’t be easy to beat, and anything can happen in the playoffs. Personally, I look forward to these matches with great impatience.
– Leonid Tambiev is considered the toughest coach in the KHL. What is your impression of him?
— Tambiev is a demanding coach who loves hockey passionately. Every day he asks us to play correctly. But at the same time, he cares about the guys on the team and wants the best for them. When he shouts, demands, forces, you understand the reasons and try even harder. That’s why it’s so difficult to play Admiral and that’s why we’ve been able to get results this season. There is very serious competition in the squad, everyone is fighting for a roster spot, ‘RB Sport’ quote Williams as saying.
