The NHL Press Office has released details of the trade between “Capitals of Washington” And “Boston Bruins” whereupon the defender Dmitry Orlov moved to Boston.
Forward Garnet Hathaway also went to the Bruins. In return, the capital club received striker Craig Smith, along with three draft picks – a first-round pick in 2023, a second-round pick in 2025 and a third-round pick in 2024.
As noted, the Minnesota Wild participated in the deal, whereby Orlov was traded. The club received the rights to Orlov in exchange for the CSKA striker Andrei Svetlakov . Orlov was then sent to Boston, withheld 25% of his salary and gave the Bruins a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.
Orlov, 31, played in 686 NHL games, in which he scored 256 (60+196) points.
