Striker “Spartacus” Alexander Khoklachev said the team fought hard to enter the Fonbet KHL Championship playoffs, there were no indifferent, but there were several reasons for failure.
On Sunday “Spartacus” away lost to Dynamo Moscow – 2:4 and ended the season. The Red-Whites finished ninth in the KHL regular season and did not qualify for the playoffs.
— Disastrous season, we didn’t make the playoffs. We will understand. We will rest for a few days, then the management will tell us everything. There were a lot of different thoughts, the coaches changed. So far, it’s hard to say. There were, of course, positive matches where we played very well. But it turned out how it turned out.
What happened after the December holidays? Everything can be said. Luck is gone, maybe they are physically addicted. We just couldn’t play. There have been offensive losses in games where they have dominated the opposition. The nine-game away winter streak has been tough for us. Omsk, for example, played poorly at the start of the season, and now finish second in the East. It’s easier to play at home than away. There’s no one reason not to make the playoffs, it all adds up.
I don’t know when we will be reunited and what we will do. I plan to train, rest and prepare for the next season. Thank you to our fans for believing in us! We fought as best we could. There were no indifferent people, but it happened so, – RB Sport reports the words of Khokhlacheva.
Khokhlachev finished the season in seventh place on the KHL top scorers list with 55 points (19 goals + 36 assists).
