petersburg S.K.A. suffered a home loss to Minsk “Dynamo” (4:6) in the opening game of the first round of the KHL Fonbet Championship playoffs.
The hosts took the lead twice after goals from Dmitry Yashkin and Yevgeny Ketov, but the Dynamo side responded each time – the pucks were scored by Nikita Pyshkaylo and Cedric Paquette.
For the first time, Dinamo were brought forward by Roman Gorbunov’s shot in the third period, then Vladimir Alistrov and Vitaliy Pinchuk scored against the Minskers. At the same time, a goal was scored by Pinchuk “without a goal” – when the opponent entered the empty net, SKA player Alexander Nikishin broke the rules.
The end result was set by SKA strikers Alexander Volkov and Nikita Gusev, as well as Alistrov, who scored a brace with a shot into an empty net.
Minskers took the series lead – 1-0. The teams’ second game will take place in St. Petersburg on March 3.
In another encounter, Lokomotiv lost to Vityaz (0:1 OT) at home in extra time, the only goal scored by Vladimir Galuzin. For the first time in its history, the Moscow region club won a KHL playoff game.
