Offensive “Pittsburgh” Yevgeny Malkin scored at least 70 points in a season in 12 NHL championships and ranked second in Penguins history, tying former Penguins forward Mario Lemieux, according to the league’s press service.

The club record holder is captain Sidney Crosby, who has 13 such seasons.

The Russian forward had two assists in the National Hockey League regular season game with the Rangers. The Penguins won 3-2 in overtime.

In 66 games in the current league, Malkin has 23 goals and 47 assists.
