Russian striker “Carolina” Andrei Svechnikov will not help the team in the remaining games of this NHL season due to a right anterior cruciate ligament injury, reports the team’s press office.
Svechnikov was injured Saturday in an NHL regular season game against the Vegas Golden Knights (0-4).
“After consultations with world experts, it has been decided that the best course of action would be to perform an operation on Svechnikov, which will be performed by our team orthopedist, Dr. Marty Isbell,” the press service said. the team, citing Carolina President Don Waddell.
This season, Svechnikov has played 64 games, during which he has scored 55 points (23 goals + 32 assists).
