Captain “Capitals of Washington” Alexander Ovechkin was named Man of the Match in the NHL regular season against the Buffalo Sabres.
The game took place on Capitals ice and ended with the capital club winning in a series of penalty shootouts. Ovechkin in regulation time scored the puck and assisted.
The top three stars of the game also included Ovechkin’s teammate, forward TJ Oshi, and guest forward Peyton Krebs.
Ovechkin has 817 regular season goals. He is the second-highest scorer in league history, 77 goals (894 goals) behind Wayne Gretzky.
