Yekaterinburg “Motorist” will extend the contract with the head coach of the team Nikolai Zavarukhin for two years, said the director of the hockey club Maxim Ryabkov.
Avtomobilist lost the series to Metallurg in the first round of the playoffs in seven games (3-4). Only once in KHL history has a club from Yekaterinburg qualified for the second round of the Gagarin Cup, and that was in 2019.
“A good reason to say in front of everyone that we have reached an agreement with Nikolai Zavarukhin, that we are extending the contract with him for another two years,” reports the correspondent of in the words of Ryabkov.
— I am very happy to work in Yekaterinburg, everything suits me. But I really want to get results. I took on a great responsibility and I understand it, – said Zavarukhin.
Zavarukhin has been working as the head coach of Avtomobilist since November 30, 2021, replacing Canadian Bill Peters in this role.
