Director “Motorist” Maxim Ryabkov said that the commissioning of a new hockey arena in Yekaterinburg has been postponed until December next year.
The new Avtomobilist arena will have a capacity of 12,000 spectators. Now “Avtomobilist” performs in the cultural center “Uralets” for 5545 spectators.
– Construction continues, we are looking at options for parallel import and delivery of equipment. But the shareholders decided last fall to postpone the opening of the arena from December 2023 to December 2024.
We laid the foundation stone in 2018, but then the pandemic started. There was a sequence of objective events in real life, which delayed the pace of construction, – the correspondent reports Ryabkov’s words.
Avtomobilist lost the series to Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the first round of the KHL Playoffs in seven games (3-4).
