World champion Andrei Nikolishin think the problems CSKA in the first round of the Gagarin Cup are associated with the uncertain play of goalkeepers.
In the first round, the Moscow club defeated Severstal 4–3 in the series. In the next round, CSKA will play with Lokomotiv, the series will start on March 17.
– Lokomotiv was the first to reach the quarter-finals, some pundits even call Yaroslavl the hidden favourite, but ahead of CSKA, to whom they lost 0-4 that year.
“Last season is easy to forget. Many things have changed. The main thing is that Ivan Fedotov solved the goalkeeper problem for CSKA that year, and now they are suffering – in the series with Severstal the goalkeeper line played unsuccessfully. And if the favorite is Lokomotiv, without any hints – the question is incorrect. Will watch.
