“Avant-garde” won the victory over Metallurgist (2:1 OT) in overtime in the first game of the Gagarin Cup quarter-final series.
In regulation time in the first period, Avangard forward Reed Boucher opened the scoring, which Semyon Koshelev answered midway through the second period.
Avangard’s winning goal was Arseniy Gritsyuk’s goal in the 9th minute of extra time.
Avangard took the lead in the series – 1-0. The teams’ second game will take place in Omsk on March 19.
