Mironov told what was most difficult for him during his first year as captain at Dynamo

Defender of the Moscow Ice Hockey Club “Dynamo” Andrei Mironov spoke about the responsibility he had towards the team after becoming captain of the Blue and Whites.

In the first round of the Fonbet KHL Championship playoffs, Dynamo lost to Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod with the score 2–4 in the series.

– I was already mentally prepared for such a role in my home club, which raised and educated me. It’s not just some kind of patch on the uniform. It’s a responsibility that means I have to be neutral and get along with everyone at the club, from the technical staff and all the players to the management.

When all is well, then all is well. And when you lose, then a lot of conversations start – and you listen for a few moments, and you need to understand what is happening in the team, what kind of “chemistry”, how the guys react.

Therefore, everything here is not as simple as it might seem from the outside – that they put on the K patch, then said something in the locker room and went to play. A completely different role compared to when I was the captain’s assistant. So not everything fell on your shoulders so much, but when you already become a captain, then everything falls on you.

But that’s what I wanted. I fully understand that I made some mistakes, but it was only my first season as captain. After the end of the championship, I myself understand what could be corrected and done better. I will grow and improve,” Mironov told the “Championship”.

Mironov, 28, in the regular season this season scored 32 (9 + 23) points in 65 games, and in the playoffs in 6 games he scored 4 assists.
