Dynamo coach says he will learn from NHL experience to work with team

Moscow Coach “Dynamo” Alexei Kudashov admitted his team was ‘addicted’ to the playoffs and vowed to use the experience in the future NHL into a longer and more grueling season.

Dynamo finished the regular season in fifth place in the Western Conference before losing to Torpedo in the first round of the Gagarin Cup 2–4 in the series.

– There were errors in physical training during the series with Torpedo. There were specific reasons why we got hooked in the first round. Going forward, adjustments will be made in preparation for the season, and specifically for the playoffs. This season has been longer than previous ones. So things turned out a little differently. After that, overall conclusions should be drawn. It becomes similar to the NHL regular season. That means we have to take a lot of things from there, and we’ve already started to do that. We have such a specialist in the coaching staff – Vyacheslav Kozlov, who spent most of his career in the NHL.

– In general, are you satisfied with the work of your technical staff?

– It is clear that in the playoffs we were going to aim for the Cup, although we did not announce it. The goalkeeper coaches did a good job. We also have good figures for the majority and the minority. There is nothing to complain about the assistants, ”said the correspondent, citing Kudashov.
