Russian hockey players will definitely participate in the Stanley Cup Finals in 2022

The Edmonton Oilers lost 5-6 to the Colorado Avalanche in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Semifinals in overtime.

Colorado, which includes Valery Nichushkin, won the series with an aggregate score of 4-0 and reached the final, where it will play with the winner of the Rangers-Tampa Bay pairing.

Thus, teams with Russian players will play the Stanley Cup final. Goaltender Andrey Vasilevsky, defenseman Mikhail Sergachev and forward Nikita Kucherov play for Tampa. For Rangers – goalkeepers Igor Shesterkin and Alexander Georgiev, as well as striker Artemy Panarin. Of the four semi-finalists, Edmonton was the only team for which Russian hockey players do not play.

Colorado last won the Stanley Cup in the 2000/2001 season.
