SKA head coach Roman Rotenberg explained why his team’s Tatarstan hockey players performed so well in the third game of the series.
“Torpedo” lost to St. Petersburg in the third match of the second round of the Gagarin Cup (0-4). As part of the SKA, Tatarstan hockey players scored a total of six points at once: these are Marat Khairullin (2+1), Damir Zhafyarov (1+1) and Marat Khusnutdinov (0+1) .
Dmitry Yashkin watched the game from the podium. What about him? And how much did this loss affect before the match?
– Of course, all this affects. At the same time, each of our hockey players is forced to reach a new level when the captain is not playing. Looking forward to the next match. It’s the playoffs. I won’t comment anymore.
– In the morning Ak Bars played and scored nothing, and in the evening Tatarstan rejoiced – Khairullin and Zhafyarov scored, and Khusnutdinov gave the assist. Do your Tatars have chemistry?
– All nationalities are represented, as in the Soviet Union. It unites us. All good comrades. The guys are playing smart, with ingenuity. But we can add, get even better. As a team we add, we take it to a new level. It’s a team win – we won’t single out anyone separately. We will not deviate from our principles,” the correspondent quoted Rotenberg as saying.
The next game in the series is Wednesday, March 22.
