Roman Rotenberg hopes his brother Boris will find a club where he can play

Ice Hockey Head Coach S.K.A. Romain Rotenberg expressed the hope that his brother Boris Rotenberg continue his career in football.

The 36-year-old left Lokomotiv Moscow due to his contract expiring. The last time Rotenberg took to the pitch in the 2018/19 season, most of the time the defender was recovering from injuries.

“I hope he will continue his career. Boris has recovered, everything is in order with his health, that’s the main thing in sport. There was a very serious injury, it’s hard for an athlete. God willing, he will continue to be well. I know he has been through a pretty serious rehabilitation program, he wants to play, and I hope everything will be fine, that he will choose the club where he can play.” said Rotenberg, quoted by RIA Novosti Sport.

The coach also spoke about strengthening SKA in the offseason.

We already have the players we wanted. We have already signed contracts with those with whom we communicated and with whom we wanted to sign (agreements). Also, we expect point buffs, there are three positions and we want to recruit the best players for each of them. We are studying the situation, we are in contact with the players and we will only take the best in the team.

We are strengthening the squad as much as possible, we have managed to recruit a lot of serious players. We are very satisfied with the way we work, and this work does not stop. There is plenty to work on, we continue to strengthen and prepare for next season. We are already working with each player individually, individually we are in contact with them. The training camp starts in mid-July, we will take steps forward and not stop there. We need to take a step further and I am sure we will. We have our own game system, which we adhere to,” Rotenberg added.

Last season, the St. Petersburg club reached the semi-finals of the Gagarin Cup, losing to CSKA in the series 3-4.
