Vasily Koshechkin said that in the future he would like to become a goalkeeper coach

Goalie Vasily Koshechkin who announced his retirement on Monday, told of his plans for the future.

Koshechkin, 40, is the winner of the Olympic Games, the world championship, he has two Gagarin Cups to his credit. He holds the KHL records for most appearances with a goaltender (765), wins (378), saves (19,674) and shutouts (90).

Do you dream of becoming a goalkeeper coach?

– In principle, I don’t mind. Why not? I am willing to pass on knowledge to other guys to progress and develop their skills.

– Did you take notes in the last years of your career?

– No, but when I joined the first team in Togliatti, I had a great coach who explained all the basics of goalkeeping to me. I still remember them. And it will not be difficult for me to convey this experience,” Koshechkin said in an interview with .

Koshechkin has been playing at the highest level in Russia since 2003, in his career there were such clubs as Lada, Ak Bars, Metallurg and Severstal.
