Offensive Philippe Chytil signed a new four-year agreement with Rangers according to the club’s press office.
The 23-year-old forward’s salary has increased from $2.3 million to $4.4375 million per season. In total, the striker will earn 17.75 million in four years.
At the end of this season, the Czech could become a free agent with compensation.
In 66 regular season NHL games, Khytil scored 42 (22 goals, 20) points, breaking personal bests for points, goals and assists for the season.
The New York Rangers are fifth in the NHL Eastern Conference.
