Canucks coach Rick Tocquet said the Russian hockey player, after discussions with his family, decided not to wear a special uniform ahead of the home game against the Flames.
“I’m not going to get into that. I respect his decision, — quotes the words of Tocquet Global News.
Earlier, the Philadelphia Flyers’ Russian defender Ivan Provorov also refused to wear a uniform with LGBT symbols before the regular season game.
This season, Kuzmenko has scored 37 goals and made 31 assists in 73 games.
