The first victory of the blue-yellows over the Lithuanians in ten years
Ukrainian national ice hockey team in the next control match defeated Lithuania – 4:3.
The Blue-Yellows opened the scoring in the first period, Philip Pangelov-Yuldashev scored. Then they converted the majority, but could not keep the advantage, conceding twice in the second 20-minute period.
At the beginning of the final period, the Lithuanians took the lead, but the end of the match was left for the Ukrainians. With an interval of 18 seconds, Yaroslav Panchenko and Daniil Trakht managed to snatch the victory. At the end of the meeting, the teams had a series of shootouts, in which the blue-yellows also turned out to be stronger.
The Ukrainian national team won against Lithuania for the first time since 2013. The teams will hold a second sparring on April 19, starting at 18:30.
Earlier, the Ukrainian national team beat Hungary twice in preparation for the 2023 World Cup. Then the team of Vadim Shakhraychuk inflicted two defeats on the national team of Latvian clubs.
The 2023 World Championship in division B1 will be held in the capital of Estonia from 23 to 29 April. The rivals of the Ukrainian national team will be Japan, Estonia, China, Serbia and the Netherlands.
