The Ukrainian U-18 national hockey team beat Hungary in a shootout at the 2023 World Cup

The second victory of the blue-yellows in the tournament

Ukrainian U-18 national ice hockey team beat peers from Hungary in the third round World Cup 2023 V division IA.

The first period remained for the Hungarians – 1:0. At the beginning of the second 20-minute period, the teams exchanged goals. An accurate shot by Mikhail Gaponenko in the 47th minute turned the meeting into overtime.

In overtime, the winner’s team did not reveal. In the shootout, more precisely, there were Ukrainian hockey players – 2:0. Note that the Hungarians did not convert any of the four shootouts.

The Ukrainian national team with four points takes the third place in the IA division. Earlier, Alexander Bobkin’s team beat France (3:2) in shootouts and lost to Denmark (1:5).

In the next match, the blue-yellows will meet with Kazakhstan on April 27. The beginning is at 13:30 Kyiv time.
