New York Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin assessed his chances for the Hart Trophy at the end of the 2021/2022 season. The Russian goaltender is in the running for the award, which is given to the player who contributed the most to his team’s regular season success, alongside forward Auston Matthews (Toronto Maple Leafs) and forward Connor McDavid ( Edmonton Oilers).
“I have no chance of winning the Hart Trophy this season. But Matthews didn’t score. Did not play against McDavid. Both are great players, – journalist Molly Walker quotes Shesterkin.
Shesterkin played in 53 NHL regular season games, scored 36 wins, conceded 2.07 goals and stopped 93.5% of shots.
