Sweden national team beat the France team in the fifth round match of the group stage of the 2023 Ice Hockey World Championship.
The Group A match, held in Tempera, ended with the score of 4:0 (4:0, 0:0, 0:0). Fabian Zetterlund scored twice, and Per Lindholm and Jonathan Berggren also scored.
In the parallel match of group B, the Latvian team from Riga beat the team from Kazakhstan – 7:0 (2:0, 3:0, 2:0). Rihards Bukarts, Oskar Batnea, Mārtiņš Dzierkals, Miks Indrašis, Kaspars Daugaviņš and Rodrigo Abols scored two goals.
The Swedish national team scored 14 points and qualified for the quarter-finals of the tournament earlier than expected, the French (4) are sixth. In group B, the Latvians (11) are on the fourth row, the Kazakhstan team (4) is sixth.
