Group A: Denmark – Sweden – 1:4 Austria – Hungary – 4:3 (shootouts)
The Swedes continue to show a brilliant game at the 2023 World Cup. This time they beat Denmark, adding another to five previous victories in the tournament. Pucks Dennis Everberg, Andre Petersson, Lukas Raymond and Karl Grundström brought victory to the Swedish team. Niklas Jensen scored Denmark’s only goal.
In the game between Austria and Hungary, both teams scored four goals, but in the end the Austrians were more accurate in the shootout.
Group B: Canada – Norway – 2:3 (shootouts) Kazakhstan – Slovenia – 4:3
Pucks from Milan Lucic and Lawson Cruz couldn’t prevent the Canadian team from avoiding a second World Cup loss. The Canadians lost to Norway in the shootout: Andreas Martinsen and Sondre Olden scored for the Norwegians, and Thomas Olsen had the decisive shot in the shootout.
Kazakhstan won a voluntary victory over Slovenia. In the Kazakh team, Nikita Mikhailis, Batyrlan Muratov, Evgeny Rymarev and Maxim Mukhametov stood out. Jan Drozga and Anže Kuralt (doubles) scored for Slovenia.
