Director of the Omsk AcademyAvant-garde » Yevgeny Khatsey died suddenly at the age of 46, according to the hockey club’s press service.
Causes of death were not reported. Khatsei played for Avangard for four years, became Russian champion in 2004 and owner of the European Champions Cup in 2005 with the club. He has been with Avangard since 2018, serving as Director of Hockey Operations, as well as Head of Team Development in the MHL and VHL. He became director of the academy in May 2022.
– Hockey club “Avangard” sends condolences to the relatives of Evgeny Vladimirovich. He will forever go down in the history of Omsk hockey as a professional in his field.
Also, condolences to the family and relatives of Khatseya were presented by the Chelyabinsk “tractor”.
