“Football players run a lot during the game, and we have a 45-second shift, we rest for 2-3 minutes” – Tampa hockey player Sergachev

Two-time Stanley Cup winner Mikhail Sergachev compared hockey to football and said he would like to play in the Medialiga.

– Former head coach of the Russian national team Boris Ignatiev said that football is much more difficult than hockey. Do you agree with him?

“I don’t know, to be honest, I can’t compare. After the derby, I spoke with Jikia and discussed their training. They run a lot the whole game, and we have a 45 second lag, we rest for 2-3 minutes. We have more contacts, they have less. They travel more distances, we less. It’s hard to compare here, really. The guys are doing a great job on the pitch, but I’m not a doctor so it’s hard for me to say which one is more difficult.

Want to try your hand at football? In Medialig, for example.

— I’m weak, actually (laughs). Not really a runner.

“He would be good in defense.

“No, no, I don’t think so,” Sergachev told RB Sport.
