Athletistic/Hockey. According to information provided by TSN reporter Gord Miller, according to the preliminary schedule of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), Russia has won the right to host the World Youth Championship in 2032. However, due current world events, this opportunity is unlikely to continue for the country.

“To be clear, this preliminary schedule was established in 2018. Due to world events in Russia and Belarus it is currently prohibited to participate in tournaments under the auspices of the IIHF and to organize events on its territory. Therefore, at the moment it is unlikely that Russia will be allowed to host the Youth World Cup in 2032,” Miller wrote.

According to the plan published by Miller, the following countries were supposed to host the World Junior Championships until 2033:

  • Sweden (2024)
  • Canada (2025, 2027, 2030, 2033)
  • United States (2026, 2031)
  • Finland (2028)
  • Czech Republic (2029)
