Athletistic/Hockey. Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin shared his disappointment at not making the Stanley Cup playoffs, but noted that it allowed him to return to Russia earlier and see his family.
Ovechkin said: “Of course I’m disappointed, but what can you do… But we went home, met relatives and friends.”
In the regular season of the National Hockey League, 37-year-old Ovechkin played 73 games, scoring 75 points (42 + 33) with a utility indicator of -16. During his NHL career, he scored 1,485 points (822 goals, 663 assists) in 1,347 games. With the Washington Capitals, Ovechkin won the Stanley Cup in 2018.
