Athletistic/Hockey. Latvian national team assistant head coach Petteri Nummelin has spoken out against the refereeing team that worked on the team’s semi-final match against Canada (2 :4) at the World Cup. The jury included Finn Miko Kaukokari and American Sean MacFarlane.
“It’s hard for me to describe all my feelings, of course I’m disappointed. We had little chance against great Canada. However, Latvia led the game with a score of 2: 1, but in the end lost 2 : 4. And then there was this pair of umpires. I hope “They won’t be umpiring in this tournament anymore. Did the referees influence the result? I can’t say, but there were moments that will definitely be counted.”
“Third place game? I don’t think we will have motivational issues in this game. The match against Canada disappointed everyone, but let’s leave that behind,” Iltalehti quotes Nummelin.
