Athletistic/Hockey. State Duma Deputy Dmitry Svishchev commented on the National Hockey League (NHL) ban on Russian players from bringing the Stanley Cup to Russia.

“A very strange and hypocritical act. They want to win a victory thanks to the Russians, but they do not want to show the Cup in Russia. The NHL must understand that with this act they are not offending all Russians, but precisely those guys who play it,” Svishchev said.

The Colorado Avalanche and Tampa Bay Lightning are in the Stanley Cup Finals. Game 1 of the final series, which took place on June 16, ended in a 4-3 overtime victory for the Colorados.

Russian strikers Valery Nichushkin and Mikhail Maltsev are part of “Colorado”. For “Tampa” from the Russians play goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevsky, defender Mikhail Sergachev and striker Nikita Kucherov.
