“Calgary” named Ryan Huska as the team’s head coach, according to the NHL club’s press service.
The 47-year-old specialist worked nine seasons in the Canadian club system. For the past five years, he has been an assistant coach and head of minority play.
Previously, Huska coached the Calgary Farm Club in the AHL. Prior to joining the club, he won the Memorial Cup with Kelowna in 2009.
Calgary previously named Craig Conroy as general manager. He began looking for a new coach to replace the fired Darryl Sutter.
Last regular season, Calgary scored 93 points in 82 games and did not make the playoffs.
