Athletistic/Hockey. Former Washington Capitals coach Peter Laviolette has signed with the New York Rangers. This was reported by the club’s press service.

The specialist became a replacement for Gerard Gallan, who left the Rangers after being knocked out of the Stanley Cup in the first round.

Earlier, the media wrote that the new head coach of the New York club is expected to be former Nashville coach John Hines.

Laviolette, 58, left the Washington Capitals after an unsuccessful 2022-23 NHL regular season. The Capitals failed to qualify for the playoffs.

Recall that in the 2022/23 Stanley Cup Final, Vegas and Florida are fighting for the trophy. Vegas leads the series 3-1.
