Known in the past as a defender for several KHL clubs Nikita Shields told RB Sport that the success of the head coach “Ak Barsa” Zinetuly Bilyaletdinova lies in discipline and its openness.
– What is Bilyaletdinov’s secret? Probably disciplinary. Look how handsome he is, how he takes care of himself. Also, his upbringing, his love for our sport, his dedication to hockey and his personal development play a big role.
It’s nice to watch, he’s quite an open person in his dealings with people. It is probably in these qualities that the secret of the success of Zinetula Bilyaletdinov lies, – said Shields.
Bilyaletdinov managed Ak Bars at the end of December 2022. Under him, the Kazan club took first place in the Eastern Conference, then reached the final of the Gagarin Cup, where they lost to CSKA in the series ( 3-4) in seven matches.
Bilyaletdinov won three Gagarin Cups with Ak Bars (2009, 2010, 2018) and led the Kazan team to the final twice (2015, 2023).
