Pleshkov is a real reinforcement of the SKA goalkeeping line, says Alexander Yudin

Goalie Artemi Pleshkov will be able to compete for a place in the base S.K.A. explains former SKA and Russian national hockey team defender, coach Alexander Yudin.

SKA and Sochi made an exchange, after which Pleshkov and defender Ivan Vydrenkov moved to the club from St. Petersburg.

– I rated Pleshkov for myself during Sochi games last season. Very young, he has just made his debut in the KHL, and in some meetings he was already training the team on him. Artemy looked great in November’s match with SKA in Ice. May the people of Sochi then lose, but Pleshkov fought with all his might. I know that in the MHL he was also great in the “Captain”, he was recognized as the best goalkeeper of the week and of the month. He’s a very young guy, but he plays with a lot of confidence.

I think he is fully capable of competing with Nikolaev and Podyapolsky for a solid place at the base, especially since SKA has been boldly giving young Russian goalkeepers chances lately. Another plus for Pleshkov is goalkeeping coach Yuri Klyuchnikov. In the “Admiral” he helped Serebryakov a lot, Nikita became a star in the KHL. I am sure that this specialist will also work very productively with the SKA goalkeepers and help them all to progress and show their best qualities,” Yudin told The Championship.

Pleshkov has made a total of 139 Youth League appearances with a save percentage of 92.6% and a safety factor of 2.71. The player made his KHL debut in October 2022 with Sochi. In total, he played 15 games in the Continental League with a 90.4% save percentage and a 3.74 safety factor.
