Captain Tampa Stephen Stamkos after being defeated by “Colorado” (0:7) in the second game of the Stanley Cup final said that there was therefore no fault of the Russian goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevsky .
Vasilevsky stopped 23 of 30 shots on his own goal and set a personal anti-playoff record – the Russian had never missed seven times in a Stanley Cup game before.
“Look, today we left him to his fate. He helped us for many years, and now we all have to pay him back in the next game. In fact, today we could have missed more. Vasilevsky made some incredible saves.
The defeat is in no way his fault. We, as a team, have to be better, – the official NHL website quotes the words of Stamkos.
Colorado leads the final series 2-0. The third meeting will take place in Florida on the night of June 21.
