Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Dmitry Orlov said he was experiencing many domestic difficulties in connection with the move to Carolina.
Orlov, in unrestricted free agent status, signed a two-year contract with “Carolina” for a total of $15.5 million. Last season, the 31-year-old played for Washington and Boston.
This summer is different for me in every way. I will try to come to Russia. But for now, we have to understand with the moves, where we will live in Carolina, so that the child goes to kindergarten. We have to solve many domestic problems. Therefore, it is still difficult to promise something when I arrive in Russia. But I will try very hard.
What about accommodation in Boston? I found it, we lived there for about a month. It was difficult that I was constantly looking for an apartment, there were no good options. We searched longer than we lived there. And the move was quite difficult, a lot of things. I’m not selling the house in Washington yet – I’ll see what’s in Carolina, how life is there, then I’ll make a decision. Maybe we’ll sell it, or maybe we’ll rent it, ” correspondent reports in Orlov’s words.
Orlov won the Stanley Cup in 2018 with the Washington Capitals.
