Chelyabinsk “Tractor” signed a contract with the goalkeeper Zakom Fukale according to the club’s press service.

The agreement with the Canadian goalkeeper is for two seasons.

Due to the 28-year-old goaltender’s four games in the National Hockey League, 92.4% on shots saved and one shutout. During the 2022-23 season, Fukale played 36 AHL games for the Capitals Hershey farm club with a 2.51 safety factor.

– Zak is a great goalkeeper who plays confidently on the pads when attacking in the clinch and from medium distance, works actively with a stick and manages the formation of the defense. Fukale is a mentally stable goalkeeper, he has a professional approach to the issue of nutrition and knows how to create a positive atmosphere around him. With his arrival, Traktor gets the first number on the ice and a charismatic person in the locker room for two seasons,” said Traktor General Manager Alexei Volkov.

Traktor finished the 2022/23 regular season in ninth place in the Eastern Conference of the Continental Hockey League Fonbet Championship and did not qualify for the playoffs.

Fukale is the winner of the 2015 Youth World Cup in Toronto, where the Canadian team beat Russian hockey players 5:4 in the final.
