Goalie Ivan Fedotov signed a contract with CSKA according to the website of the Moscow hockey club.
The deal with the 26-year-old goalkeeper is calculated until the end of the 2024/25 season.
On Saturday, reported that the KHL had registered Fedotov’s contract with the Red-Blues.
In May of last year, Fedotov signed a one-year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL. In the summer of 2022, the goalkeeper was drafted into the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces for military service. In mid-June, Philadelphia announced that the hockey player’s contract had been extended until the 2023/24 season.
The KHL said on Saturday that based on information and documents received from the NHL, the league and the club assume that Fedotov has not signed a valid agreement with the NHL club for the 2023/24 season. in the sense set out in the memorandum of understanding. Based on this, and also taking into account the player’s personal desire to play for CSKA, the league recognizes Fedotov’s contract with the army club for two seasons as legitimate.
Fedotov is the winner of the Gagarin Cup with CSKA, silver medalist of the 2022 Olympics in Beijing.
