Athletistic/Hockey. Bill Meltzer, a reporter for the Philadelphia Flyers’ official website, expressed his strong reaction to CSKA president Igor Esmantovich’s comments regarding the signing of goaltender Ivan Fedotov.
“Predictable. This is an analogue of the sentence that you are not responsible for the murder of your parents, because you are an orphan. Russian representatives made Fedotov not fulfill the terms of the contract for the 2022 season /2023. The deal was legally and properly transferred to the 2023/2024 season,” the post read.
Additionally, Meltzer expressed his thoughts on the KHL’s possible reaction to the situation with Fedotov.
“I’m sure the KHL will say that the contract with Philadelphia expired on July 1, 2023 and that Fedotov is a free agent. However, Philadelphia extended the deal for another year for a legitimate reason: they just couldn’t enforce the terms of this contract.” – wrote the journalist.
