National Hockey League Club General Manager “Ottawa Senators” Pierre Dorion says he had talks with the striker’s representatives Vladimir Tarasenko according to TSN.
The Russian striker, who is in unrestricted free agent status, is still looking for a new club.
Tarasenko, 31, spent the second half of last season with the New York Rangers, where he ended up on a trade from St. Louis.
As a member of the Rangers, Tarasenko scored 21 (8+13) points in 31 NHL regular season games, in seven playoff games the Russian scored 4 (3+1) extra points for performance.
Tarasenko has played for the St. Louis Blues since 2012, with whom he won the Stanley Cup in 2019. The average salary in his last contract was $7.5 million per year.
