Athletistic/Hockey. State Duma deputy and two-time Olympic hockey champion Vyacheslav Fetisov expressed his opinion on the decision of SKA striker Brendan Leipsik to obtain Russian citizenship.

Fetisov sees this as a positive trend for Russia. He felt that the acquisition of Russian passports by foreigners indicates that propaganda in the West breaks down when people come to Russia and see the truth. Fetisov wished Leipsik good luck and development as a Russian citizen, and hopes to have supporters. According to Fetisov, Lipsik’s acquisition of Russian citizenship will not affect hockey in Russia much, but it may affect the political situation.
