Defender and captain of Metallurg Magnitogorsk Egor Yakovlev told Gazeta.Ru that he had a good NHL season and had no regrets.
In the 2018/19 season, Yakovlev played for the NHL club New Jersey, in which he played 25 games, scored 7 points (2 goals and 5 assists).
– Concerning New Jersey, I will say this: if I went back there, I would have done everything exactly the same. Nothing to regret. Yes, a bilateral contract… There were nuances that I didn’t quite understand then. If the contract was one-sided it would be a lot easier and I think I would have played a lot more games.
I think I had a pretty good season in the United States. SO “Metallurgist” offered me a good contract and couldn’t wait, so I decided to go home anyway and continue my career in my home club, ”said the hockey player.
