Olympic champion and world champion Egor Yakovlev told Gazeta.Ru that his main goal is to win the Gagarin Cup with Magnitogorsk Metallurgist .
– My goals at the moment are: I would like to win the Gagarin Cup with my home club. This is my main goal for the next two years. Raise it above your head in your hometown. I did it once, but for another team (laughs). Now I want to do it in my home team,” said the defender.
Yakovlev once won the Gagarin Cup as part of SKA St. Petersburg. The hockey player graduated from Metallurg.
The new KHL season kicks off on September 1 with a match between CSKA Moscow and Ak Bars Kazan.
