Athletistic/Hockey. Czech journalist Vladimir Raus has expressed his thoughts on the transfer of striker Ostap Safin to the Lada club.

According to him, the 24-year-old hockey player remains a very interesting player, although his career is developing a little slower than expected. In “Sparta”, Safin was offered a contract, but he did not accept the role of a player of the third or fourth link, which led to his transition to “Lada”.

Probably, at Tolyatti, Safin will be given a different role and more playing time. Moreover, rumors suggest that he will receive a significantly higher salary at the new club than at Sparta.

Like Czech hockey player Dmitry Yashkin, Safin has dual nationality and has always had affection for his Russian roots. He speaks Russian and often travels to Russia to see his relatives.

The acquisition of Safin also has an advantage for the Russian team due to restrictions on the number of foreign players in the KHL. Teams can now only have three legionnaires, and Safin, having Russian nationality, will not be considered a foreign player for Lada.

Lada, being one of the poorest clubs in the league, is taking a wise path to adapt to the limit of foreign players, and hiring a hockey player with Russian nationality is a good move for the team. In this context, Safin is an ideal candidate for Lada.
