Athletistic/Hockey. North American journalist Scott Wheeler has published a ranking of the NHL’s most promising hockey players who were selected in the 2023 draft on The Athletic website. In second place in this ranking is SKA’s Russian striker Matvey Michkov.
Wheeler noted that in his opinion, Michkov is the most promising player he has ever seen in third place before the draft, and also the best Russian talent since Alex Ovechkin and Evgeni Malkin. He pointed to Michkov’s unique qualities, especially his ability to make decisions quickly and execute them with incredible skill, whether it’s a free throw, a quick pass or a sudden save. According to the journalist, Matvey Michkov is a rare player who has the highest level of skill in all aspects of the game.
