Goalie CSKA Ivan Fedotov told KP Sport that during his military service he only watched hockey on TV once.
Fedotov signed a rookie contract with NHL club Philadelphia Flyers in July 2022, but was drafted into the military for a year. After returning from service, he signed a two-year contract with CSKA.
– Once they went on TV, I don’t remember who CSKA played with. It was still autumn. I managed to see in the evening, when all the commanders dispersed. The guys watched, it was good to see that they were interested, attached to the sport, – said the hockey player.
Fedotov added that in general it is not possible to watch hockey during the service, because there is no time.
— Getting up, charging, then the routine — someone’s on the parade square, someone’s leaving for headquarters, someone’s going somewhere, something else. There are different commands. Someone goes to the training and training center. There are nuances that I will not say, but, roughly speaking, the rise – and went, – said Fedotov.
Fedotov, as part of CSKA, won the Gagarin Cup in the 2021/22 season and won silver at the 2022 Olympics with the Russian team.
