A hockey player Ivan Fedotov told KP Sport that it was only after three and a half months that he realized he could play hockey in the army.
Fedotov signed a rookie contract with NHL club Philadelphia Flyers in July 2022, but was drafted into the military for a year. After returning from service, he signed a two-year contract with CSKA. On July 8, the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) announced that it had registered Fedotov’s contract with the Army club.
– It was said that you were either sent to serve on a submarine, or in Novaya Zemlya …
Almost sent into space. It’s like that ? I heard a bell – and we leave.
– When did you realize that you would have the opportunity to play hockey in the army?
— After translation. The guys told me, officers, that we train outside working hours, and even during certain working hours we will involve you.
How long has it been since the call?
“Three and a half months somewhere.
Fedotov, as part of CSKA, won the Gagarin Cup in the 2021/22 season and won silver at the 2022 Olympics with the Russian team.
