Roman Rotenberg said he couldn’t take part in Zaripov’s farewell match in Kazan

SKA Head Coach Romain Rotenberg said he could not participate in the farewell match of ex-Kazan striker “Ak Bars” Danisa Zaripova .

Zaripov, who has spent most of his career in Ak bars , played the last official game on February 24. The 42-year-old hockey player’s farewell match will be held on August 9 in Kazan. Ak Bars for the first time in history will remove the number from circulation – number 25 will remain with Danis Zaripov.

– I was happy to receive a personal invitation from Danis Zaripov to participate in his farewell match. I’m not going to hide, for me it’s a great honor. I have always had great respect for Danis, I consider him one of the best players in KHL history and my friend. At the same time, Zaripov has always been not only an excellent hockey player, but also a model of professionalism and courteous behavior. I’m sure that many boys from Chelyabinsk, Kazan, Magnitogorsk and other cities fell in love with hockey and took sticks in their hands under the impression of Danis Zaripov’s game. He is a man of the time!

Alas, for the current coaches, July and August are very busy months, when we will be laying the foundations for the whole season to come. Therefore, I will not be able to participate in Danis Zaripov’s farewell game, but I will watch it with interest.

I have no doubt that a personality of such stature will find himself in any role in the future, be it a coaching career, a managerial position or something else. All doors are open for Danis Zaripov, I wish him much success! — Rotenberg wrote on his Telegram channel.

Zaripov is a five-time Gagarin Cup winner with Ak Bars and Metallurg Magnitogorsk.
